Senior Center Councils
The Senior Center Councils are comprised of senior participants that have been elected into their board by members of the Senior Centers. The council acts to ensure that programs are well rounded and responsive to the needs and desires of senior citizens, age 60 and older, of varied backgrounds and abilities; to identify needs and assist the staff in fulfilling these needs; and to ensure that supplemental funding is available to carry out the needs.
The councils are involved with fund raising efforts, special events, and a multitude of activities that are sponsored by each Senior Center. They may also act as liaisons between senior participants and staff to express the needs and concerns of seniors within the community and to identify ways to resolve any problems.
