Youth Indoor Sports Leagues
New this Fall! Youth Co-Ed Volleyball
This is a non-competitive, six week volleyball program designed to introduce players to the game of volleyball while developing skills and promoting a fun learning enviornment. Players will practice for two weeks starting mid-October and play two games a week for the next four weeks. Games and practices will be held Monday-Thursday only. Youth Select League Basketball Program
This is a non-competitive basketball program designed for higher skilled basketball players. Program will run in conjunction with our already established Youth Co-Ed Basketball league. There will be a mandatory tryout day where coaches will evaluate and select teams. If interested in playing at the select level, you must attend at least one of the tryout dates (no exceptions). You must register for our Community Recreation Basketball League. Any player who is not selected will be automatically transferred to our community-based recreation basketball program. Players can only play on one team. Under no circumstances will players be allowed to play above their age group. Due to space limitations players must play for the region they reside in according to the Department of Community Services boundaries listed below. All select leagues are countywide. Games will be played Thursdays through Sundays.Program is open to age Boys 8-13; Girls 11-14.
Mandatory Tryouts will be held.

Youth Recreational Basketball League

These community-based recreational basketball leagues are, first and foremost, youth leagues intended to provide a positive social experience for young boys and girls with emphasis placed on good sportsmanship, fun, and exercise. Children will be placed on teams based on area, age, height, and experience in order to maintain parity. First time/new registrations: Proof of age is required at the time that you register your child for sports leagues. There are no exceptions to this rule. New registrants must mail proof of age within 48 hours. All coaches are NYSCA certified (National Youth Sports Coaches Association).
All players and coaches will receive a team shirt. Visit your local Community Center for size samples. It is your responsibilty to select correct shirt size. Coaches will contact players regarding practice schedules. Winter league: one practice and one game per week. Summer: two games per week (no practices). REGISTRATION IS LIMITED. Pee Wee Basketball League
Winter Season Only
This is a non-competitive basketball program designed to develop fundamental skills
and to promote fun while participating in loosely organized games. An alternating one-hour practice or
game is usually held each Saturday between 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. Practices start in December. Proof of
age is required at the time of registration. There are no exceptions to this rule. All players and volunteer
coaches are issued a team shirt. It is your responsibility to select correct size. Age: 5-7. Click for Registration Flier.
Spring 2009 Middleschool Basketball Program
for Boys & Girls
Registration begins December 10, 2008
Come test your skills versus the best Charles County has to offer. This league is designed to allow middle school students who have dreams of playing high school basketball an opportunity to play against their peers. Players will practice twice a week with practices starting at 6:00pm (weekdays), and Saturday starting at 10:00am. There will be an eight game regular season with playoffs. Games will be scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. All divisions will be countywide. Divisions are based on grade level. Must show proof of age at time of registration. Players can only play at the middle school community center they currently attend. Those attending private school must play for the center in their appropriate school zone. Games will be played twice a week. Postseason tournament will be played at local-area high schools. Players will receive a team shirt along with a participation award at the conclusion of the season.
