Special
Populations
The Special
Populations program area offers a variety of recreational classes
and programs designed to meet the needs of individuals with mental
retardation and/or closely related developmental disabilities.
Not all programs in this area will meet the needs and interests
of all residents with special needs. We are currently developing
programs for those with physical disabilities such as arthritis,
minor injury rehabilitations, and more. Special Populations hosts
dances, bowling bashes, Friday Night Fest, as well as a variety
of arts and crafts classes. Also provided are life skills programs
including cooking, personal grooming, and independent living skills
for our clients with mental disabilities.
Instructors
Needed
Instructors are needed for a variety of programs—arts and crafts,
dancing, cooking, special events, and more. If you would like
to share your talents with children/adults with developmental
disabilities, please contact our office for an application.
