Contractor Operations
VanGO is administered by the Charles County Department of Community Services, but operated by a private contractor (see Contract Operations for more details). VanGO is administered by the Charles County Department of Community Services, but operated by a private contractor, who hires all drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff and who schedules all paratransit/specialized service trips.
The Department of Community Services is responsible for applying for and administering all grant funds used to support VanGO, for route/system planning and design, for ensuring vendor compliance with the contract, and for quality assurance and customer service.
