General Information
VanGO is a countywide transportation system that offers public transportation routes that operate on fixed schedules and more specialized transportation services for those persons unable to utilize the public transportation system.

VanGO is administered by the Charles County Department of Community Services, but operated by a private contractor (see Contract Operations for more details).
Public Transit
VanGO public transit provides transportation opportunities within Charles County and serves several desired primary destinations including the College of Southern Maryland, St. Charles Towne Center Mall, employment locations and medical facilities, as well as numerous shopping centers.
Most routes operate Monday through Saturday from 7:00am-10:00pm on hourly schedules. Some secondary routes operate Monday through Friday with fewer loops throughout the day (see "Route Descriptions").
All schedules can be downloaded from this website by going to the "Schedules" section. Additionally, schedules can be mailed or obtained on VanGO vehicles, at local libraries or community centers throughout the county. The schedules are in the form of timetables and provide details regarding the service area, service days, color identification, designated vehicle stops, and times. Call the Department of Community Services, Transportation Division, 301-934-9305 or 301-870-3388, if you would like to have schedules mailed to you.
As can be viewed in the "Schedules" section, VanGO routes cover the Waldorf, St. Charles, La Plata, Indian Head, Charlotte Hall, Newburg, and Nanjemoy areas. In most cases, routes takes less than an hour but run in continuous loops throughout the day that begin at the top of every hour. Stops along the routes are listed on schedules and flag stops may be accommodated depending on location (see "Public Transportation/Trip Planning").
VanGO has stops at the Charles County Health Department, Charles County Department of Social Services, Civista Medical Center, College of Southern Maryland, Old Line Centre, and the Pembrooke Medical Center, just to name a few.
