VanGO Route Descriptions

VanGO "Palette"

The photos below show various items you might see while using the VanGO Transit service. Vehicles, uniforms, and signs have been shown.

Bus1Public Transit Bus

Most public transit buses are red (a few older white ones may still exist but are being retired as new buses are received). All have a County Government Seal on the driver door, the VanGO logo on the rear of the bus, "The ART of Transportation" slogan on the sides, and vehicle numbes on the rear and front driver side. Public transit buses are configured for 15 or 16 seats, plus two wheelchair positions. Larger capacity vehicles, expected to be delivered this year, will be configured for 20 seats, plus the two wheelchair positions. All public vehicles provide for standing passengers as well.

Bus and SedanSpecialized Services Vehicles

Vehicles used for VanGO's specialized services (including ADA, Demand Response, Medical Assistance, etc.) are either small buses - to accommodate wheelchairs and groups of passengers - or sedans. Both sedans and buses are white and have the VanGO logo and stripes. The vehicles feature the dispatch/reservation phone number under the VanGO stripes (red on sedans, black on small buses). The vehicle number is located in front of the driver side. The County seal is also present on each type of vehicle, but in different locations. The sedans can accommodate up to five passengers; the small buses are generally configured to seat 12 passengers plus two wheelchairs. Unlike the public transit buses, standing is not permitted on the specialized vehicles.

vango bus stop signBus Stop Signs & Info Posts:

The photo shows a sample of a VanGO bus stop sign. Each route has designated stops; however, signs are not always available at each stop. The public is encouraged to wait for buses at signs where available. In addition, buses will stop for passengers waving their hand in all residential areas, this is called a Flag Stop. There are no flag stops on Route 5.

The lower portion of the sig contains our Info Post information. The sign contains schedule information for the particular bus stopping at this location. The sign will also indicate where you are standing in relation to the schedule, as well as when the bus will stop at this location again.
