Specialized Services
VanGO offers a number of specialized transportation services for persons unable to access or utilize the fixed-route public bus system.
Subscription Service
VanGO offers a separate specialized service for persons needing transportation to dialysis and senior centers.
VanGO Subscription Service provides transportation to local senior centers and dialysis centers based on where customers live in the County. The County is divided into service zones that determine when VanGO can provide transportation to and from the centers.
VanGO has worked closely with the senior and dialysis centers to give VanGO customers priority when scheduling service and operating hours. If due to space limitations a center is not able to accommodate a customer's need to coincide with the availability of VanGO transportation, that person will be placed on a waiting list for the service days and times needed (this refers to dialysis centers). Until they can be accommodated on the needed shift, VanGO may be able to offer service under other specialized transportation services, such as Demand Response or Medical Assistance transportation.
An application must be completed for VanGO subscription service.
Days, Hours, and Fares
VanGO subscription service is available Monday through Saturday from 5:30 A.M. until 5:30 P.M. and costs $1 each way, or, an All Day Pass may be purchased for only $2. For senior citizens and persons with disabilities, the cost is .50¢ each way or an All Day Pass for $1.
Passenger Assistance
Subscription service is a door-to-door service where drivers can provide assistance with boarding and disembarking, as well as assistance to and from the vehicle. Drivers can also assist with packages but the total weight of all packages must not exceed 5 pounds and drivers must be able to carry all packages in one trip.
Safety
All VanGO passengers must use safety belts when riding aboard VanGO vans. All wheelchairs must be secured when aboard VanGO vehicles.
