Tri-County Animal Shelter Off Leash Play Area

JOHN E. MUDD DOG PLAY YARD NOW OPEN

John E. Mudd MemorialOn October 4, 2002, we held the dedication ceremony for the John E. Mudd Memorial Dog Play Yard. Thanks to the many citizens who donated in his name, the Tri-County Animal Shelter Advisory Board, Charles County Public Facilities and many more (too lengthy to list but much appreciated people)... the Shelter now has an area where dogs can run off leash.

This large fenced in area has a gazebo and is the perfect place for adopters to imagemeet a new pet and rescue groups to test dogs for potential search and rescue or law enforcement canines. We also look forward to holding special events, like our Annual Essay Contests and Adopt-a-thons in this lovely environment.

The Department of Public Facilities Parks Division currently operates the White Plains Dog Park. Click here to learn more about off leash opportunities currently available there.
