Private Security Guard & Patrol Services
If your alarmed location experiences excessive false burglary/intrusion alarms (with the exception of licensed firearms dealers), you may consider contracting for private guard response services. There are several benefits to contracting with a private guard service. Private guards respond to alarm activations as high priorities and are not subject to being redirected to other emergencies. With law enforcement, however, other calls (crimes against persons, robberies, accidents, etc.) must take precendence, which can delay police response times to alarm calls. Average response times for guard companies is 8 - 10 minutes. Upon arriving on the scene, if a guard discovers an open door, broken window, suspicious person, or attempted or actual criminal activity, the guard contacts the police to request an officer be dispatched. Based upon the guard's eyewitness verification, the police dispatch will be regarded as a possible "crime in progress" and will be given a much higher priority response than a dispatch request based on an electronic alarm signal only. As the majority of alarms are false, this eyewitness verification will save valuable police resources as well as protect alarm owners from assessment of excessive false alarm fines. Therefore, for locations experiencing chronic burglary/intrusion false alarms, privatized alarm response may offer a more efficient, rapid and less expensive alternative to police response. It also offers a viable option to combating false alarms and in assisting over-worked, under-funded jurisdictions.
PLEASE NOTE: privatized response may be used for burglary/intrusion alarms only, as local police, fire and emergency medical responders would continue to respond to any panic, duress, hold-up, medical or fire alarm activation.
