What is the EAP?
The Charles County Government's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) functions to help you and your family if you encounter problems which can affect your job performance. Employee problems such as marital issues, job stress, grief, family or financial concerns, emotional or sexual abuse, depression, or chemical dependency can take their toll and often lead to fatigue, poor health, and impaired job performance. The EAP can assist you through individual intervention services, seminars, and workshops.
Who can use the EAP?
All full time employees of Charles County Government may receive services. Immediate family members living within the employee's household may also take advantage of EAP services.
How do I contact the EAP?
The Pinnacle Center for Mental Health and Human Relations can be reached at 301-932-9656; 24 hours a day, any day of the week. Calls during might and weekend hours will be taken by an answering service. An EAP service provider will be contacted and will return your call promptly.

Post Office Road, Suite 210, Waldorf, Maryland 20602. By special request, an appointment can
be scheduled at another location that is more convenient for you.
How much does it cost?
Your initial EAP assessment is free.
If additional services are needed, an appropriate referral will be made. The cost of additional services can be submitted to you health insurance provider for coverage as outlined in your own health insurance policy. Your EAP representative will provide guidance and advice to help you arrange for the most cost effective services available.
Is the EAP confidential?
All records of your contact with the EAP and its representatives will be confidential and will be filed by case numbers instead of names. Information from these files can only be released with written permission from you, the employee. There is an exception to maintaining confidentiality. If individuals pose a clear and immediate danger to themselves or to others, they will be advised that confidentiality
cannot be maintained and appropriate steps will be taken to ensure that no harm is done.
