6980 Bensville Road, White Plains, MD 20695

Located on Bensville Road (Route 229) between the Pomfret and Waldorf communities.
Developed facilities currently include athletic playing fields, a playground and a small pavilion. Sports fields include: one regulation-size baseball, three little league baseball, three soccer and one football field. A separate field has been designated as an area for general community use (all other fields require permit).
Evenings and Weekends – Organized parties/events are not allowed in playground pavilion area. (Reserved areas for these types of activities are available at Gilbert Run Park.)
Bensville Park is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until dusk.

The Bryantown Sports Complex is comprised of 15 soccer fields. The field sizes accommodate all age divisions and are for official league use - by permit only.
The Bryantown Sports Complex is located at the intersection of Route 5 and Bryantown Road.
4705 Friendship Landing Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662

Friendship Farm Park is located on Friendship Landing Road, just off Route 425 in Nanjemoy. This scenic park overlooks the Nanjemoy Creek and offers a variety of recreational activities from hiking and fishing to playing baseball.
A county-owned boat ramp offers easy access to the Potomac River and is open year round, from dawn to dusk, to the public. Fishing from the pier and shoreline is permitted. The Department of Natural Resources has designated this park as a free fishing area - anglers are not required to possess a fishing license.
Two trail loops offer hikers and nature lovers nearly 4 miles of waterfront and woodland hiking opportunities.
Three athletic fields are also located at Friendship Farm Park. These fields include two little league fields and one regulation baseball field. Athletic fields are for official league use-by permit only.

Gilbert Run Park is located 8 miles east of La Plata on Route 6. Within this scenic wooded parkland are hiking and nature trails, picnic areas (grills and tables), picnic pavilions, playground areas, and fishing piers. The main attraction is a 60 acre fresh water lake which affords fishing, pedal boating, rowboating and canoeing. Fishermen are able to catch bass, bluegill, trout and catfish. A boat ramp is also provided for your convenience (electric motors only). Also available to the public are fishing supplies, fishing licenses and concessions.
Gilbert Run Park is opened from March to November with seasonal hours of operation. For further information, call the park office at 301-932-1083.

Laurel Springs Park is located on Radio Station Road in La Plata. This facility offers a multitude of areas for residents to pursue their leisure interest.
Developed facilities include a playground with emphasis on special needs play, two small picnic pavilions and several informal areas with picnic tables. Athletic playing areas include: two full-size baseball, five softball, three little league, one football and five soccer fields. A number of these fields are lighted for evening play. Athletic fields are available for official league use by permit only. Fitness enthusiasts will enjoy the natural surface running/walking trail which loops through the wooded perimeter of the park. (This trail is open year round.).
Laurel Springs Park is open from 9:00 a.m. until dusk. During athletic events, the park remains open later into the evening.

Mallows Bay Park offers excellent outdoor recreation opportunities. Tremendous wildlife viewing areas, small boating access to the Potomac River, kayak launch, fishing and hiking. Paddle through the WWI Ghost Fleet, the largest ship graveyard in the Northern Hemisphere.

6680 Maxwell Hall Drive, Hughesville, MD 20637

Equestrians
Located in Hughesville, Maryland on Maxwell Hall Drive, this Charles County park is open from 8:00 a.m. until dusk (weather permitting). Features include about 14.2 miles of diverse riding trails, open fields, a jump course, wooded areas, steep terrain, shoreline, beach rest locations and a trail course.
Maxwell Hall Park is a membership-only facility for equestrians.
Hikers
All 14.2 miles of trails at Maxwell Hall are open to hikers and nature enthusiasts. Hiker parking is available at the Equestrian Area entrance as well as a separate parking area on Teagues Point Road.

Oak Ridge Park is located in Hughesville on Oaks Road. This eastern area park offers a combination of active and passive recreational activities.
Athletic fields for official league use, by permit only, include little league and full size baseball fields. Also a field is available for community pick-up play. A playground and picnic pavilion area are included at this facility.
Seven miles of wooded equestrian trails and two show rings are available on a first come, first served basis, unless there are scheduled events. This facility is available for rent by equestrian organizations and ideal for youth and open events. This area of Oak Ridge Park is open to the public seven days a week from dawn to dusk.

This 17,000 square foot facility is without question, the best skatepark in our region. The totally concrete park was designed/built by the legendary Wally Hollyday of California Skateparks.

Offering a wide variety of recreational activities for all ages, this park is located in southern Charles County off of Route 257 in Issue. Visitors can enjoy a scenic view of the Potomac River. A playground, picnic areas, ball fields, tennis courts and a fishing pier are available.
Southern Park is open to the public from dawn to dusk.

The Robert D. Stethem Memorial Sports Complex is comprised of ten little league and big league baseball fields, one football practice area, a playground and picnic pavilion. Athletic fields are available for official league use by permit only.
3100 Ruth B. Swann Drive, Bryans Road, MD 20616

Ruth B. Swann Park is located in Bryans Road off Route 210. This western area park borders the historic Pomonkey Creek and the Potomac River. A combination of both active and passive recreational activities are available from large open areas for soccer and baseball to picnicking and bird watching.
Located at this park is a lighted baseball/little league field and football/soccer field that are available to organized leagues during the playing seasons by permit only. Picnic areas and a playground are available on a first come, first served basis. Hikers can take advantage of the one mile foot trail which passes through mature woodland on its way to the shoreline of the Potomac River.
9430 Turkey Hill Road, La Plata, MD 20646

Turkey Hill Park is located directly off of Turkey Hill Road, just north of La Plata.
Facilities include an off-leash enclosed dog park, four soccer fields, one football field, and a multi-purpose area for informal recreation activities. Athletic fields are available for official league use by permit only. A half-mile oval roadway for walkers/runners and two picnic pavilions are also available. This park is situated on property which is leased from the State Highway Administration.
Turkey Hill Park is open from 8:00 a.m. until dusk.

White Plains Park is located at just south of DeMarr Road on St. Charles Parkway.
Facilities include an 18 hole golf course, lighted tennis courts, tot lot and playground, and a dog park. Athletic fields (for official league use-by permit only) include one lighted soccer field, one lighted softball field, one lighted baseball field, one lighted little league field and one lighted football field. The little league field is available for community pick-up play when not scheduled for official league use.
White Plains Regional Park is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. (9:00 a.m. in winter months) until dusk. During some athletic events, the park remains open later into the evening.

This park features two soccer fields, two little league baseball fields, one regulation baseball field and a practice football area. Adjacent to an elementary school which allows evening use of playground and basketball facilities.
