Friendship Farm Park/Landing

4715 Friendship Landing Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662

A single-lane boat ramp located on Nanjemoy Creek, a tributary of the Potomac River.  Parking exists for approximately 16 trailers.  This facility features good access to the main stem of the Potomac and also to the extensive, immediate protected waters of the Nanjemoy Creek.

One acre surrounding this boat launch facility is a designated free-fishing area.  Anglers are not required to possess a fishing license.

Open year-round, dawn to dusk.

Directions:  From La Plata, take Route 6 West.  Left on Route 425.  Left on Friendship Landing Road.  Follow to end.

Gilbert Run Park

13140 Charles Street, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622

Wheatley Lake is a 60 acre freshwater impoundment located within Gilbert Run Park. Trailer parking is limited to approximately 12 vehicles, but seldom does the lot fill. Electric motors only - use of gas motors prohibited. Hint: Weekday anglers usually have the lake to themselves! Concessions, bait and picnic areas available.

Gilbert Run Park is open from March to November. Hours of operation vary during the season.

Hatton Creek

13135 Hatton Creek Road, Newburg, MD 20664

This single-lane ramp gives protected small boat access to the Wicomico River. Excellent location for recreational crabbing and fishing. Good kayak area. Open year-round, dawn to dusk. No ramp fee.

Directions: From La Plata, take Route 301 south. Left on Route 257 towards Cobb Island. Left on Hatton Creek Road. Follow to end.

Mallows Bay Park

1440 Wilson Landing Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662

A single-lane boat ramp for small boats, located in the Riverside area of the County, gives access to mid-section of the Potomac River. Trailer parking is limited to 18 vehicles. No ramp fee. Kayak launch pier also available.

Open seasonally from 7:00 AM to dusk.

Marshall Hall

1005 Marshall Hall Road, Bryans Road, MD 20616

Located in the northwest section of the County at the end of Route 227, this boat launching facility gives direct access to the Potomac River. Available, free to the public, are two boat ramps, a boarding pier and parking for approximately 25 boat trailers. This is a popular area for shoreline fishing.

Marshall Hall Boat Launching Facility is open from dawn to dusk year round.
