White Plains & Turkey Hill Dog Parks are public off-leash areas operated and maintained by Charles County Government’s Parks and Recreation Division. We invite County dog owners and their pets to enjoy these unique facilities. Our Dog Parks provide safe, legal areas in which dogs can run, play and socialize. Our dog owners seem to enjoy these parks just as much as their four-legged friends!
Each one-acre park has two separate fenced-in areas. The large area is designed for general dog play. The smaller area is for smaller dogs, puppies (must be at least 4 months old) or for shy dogs not quite ready to socialize in the larger general play area.
At both parks, you find secure fenced areas to protect your dog, numerous benches, a picnic pavilion, a message bulletin board and plenty of friendly people and their dogs. Plastic pick-up bags are provided by the park so that visitors are always ready to clean up after their dogs. Drinking water is available at White Plains only (not during winter months).
White Plains Dog Park is located in White Plains Regional Park (4910 St. Charles Parkway). From Waldorf: Travel south on U.S. 301 to White Plains, turn left on DeMarr Road. Travel 1.5 miles to stop sign. Turn right on to St. Charles Parkway, then take your first left in to White Plains Park.
Turkey Hill Dog Park is located in Turkey Hill Park (9430 Turkey Hill Road). From Waldorf: Take 301 South and turn right on to Turkey Hill Road (just north of La Plata). The park is the first right entrance off of Turkey Hill Road.
Seven (7) days a week, 8:00 a.m. until Dusk (Closed Christmas and New Year’s).
White Plains and Turkey Hill Dog Parks are operated by the Charles County Department of Public Facilities’ Parks & Recreation Division.
