Gilbert Run Park
Gilbert Run Park is the only county park where picnic facilities and pavilions may be reserved in advance. Information on permitting one of these sites can be obtained by calling Gilbert Run Park at 301-932-1083.
Weekend/Holiday Gilbert Run Park Pavilion Rental Rates:
Brookside
Brookside is Gilbert Run's largest pavilion; accommodates groups of 200-500; $250/day; beer permits available for $25 additional. Features large grills, electric, on-site restrooms, volleyball court, horsehoe pits, open play area and easy access to the playground equipment. This semi-secluded pavilion has its own large parking area.
Amphitheater
Gilbert Run's Amphitheater is a large pavilion; accommodates 100-300 people; $150/day; beer permit available for $25 additional. Features volleyball courts and horseshoe pits, 2 large grills, 20 tables, separate restrooms, open area for other activities.
Hilltop
Hilltop is Gilbert Run's medium size pavilion and accommodates 50-150 people; $100/day. Beer permit available for $25 additional. Features wooded-hilltop setting, brick B.B.Q., 15 tables, on-site restrooms and parking area, leisurely 5 minute walk on wooded trail to playground, boating and sports area.
Dockside
Gilbert Run's Dockside is a regular size pavilion; accommodates up to 50 people; $75/day. Features volleyball and horseshoes, brick B.B.Q., 6 tables, open lakeside setting, across bridge from playground, near restrooms, boating, and sports area.
Southbridge
Southbridge is a regular size pavilion; accommodates up to 50 people; $75/day. Features lakeside setting, grill, 6 tables, across bridge from boating, restrooms, and sports area, next to playground and tot lot.
Playground
Regular size pavilion; accommodates up to 50 people; $75/day. Features wooded setting,
close to parking area, near playground and tot lot, across bridge from restrooms, boating
and sports area.
Non-Reserved Picnic Areas
Other various picnic facilities are available throughout the County's park system. With the exception of Gilbert Run Park, all other picnic areas and pavilions are offered ot the public on a first come, first served, basis. Non-reserved picnic areas can be found at the following parks:
Laurel Springs Park is open from 9:00 A.M. until dusk. During athletic events, the park remains open later into the evening.
