General Stuff
AGE LIMITS Children must be 6 years of age in order to participate. Children under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by an adult.
PARK CAPACITY Normal skating sessions are limited to 65 skaters. Once we reach this number, additional admissions will not be accepted. Advanced skill bowl skaters may be an exception (at discretion of park staff). Please check park capacity level before being dropped off.
INCLEMENT WEATHER/PARK CLOSURE For safety reasons, the park closes during and after rain events when skating surface is wet. Also, excessive heat or cold temperatures may necessitate park closure. When in doubt, give us a call.
RAIN CHECK POLICY Rain checks will be issued if rain creates wet conditions prior to the halfway point in the session. Staff are not authorized to give cash refunds. Rain checks are redeemable at any future session (no charge).
FACILITY RENTAL The entire park is available for rental ($175). Great idea for birthday parties! For rental information call 301-932-3470
Saturdays 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. (when not scheduled for lessons/session)
Sundays 9:00 - 10:45 a.m.
Discounts available on rental of protective gear. Liability waivers are mandatory.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY SESSIONS When local public schools are closed, the skatepark will normally operate on weekend hours. Check with park staff for an updated list of these dates.
MAJOR HOLIDAYS The park is closed on the following major holidays:
- Easter
- 4th of July (open early session only)
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
- New Years
SPECTATORS Charles County Skatepark encourages spectators to enjoy the facility. An elevated walking path surrounds the entire park for excellent viewing opportunities at the skate surface level. Bleachers and benches are available for your comfort and convenience.
OTHER AMENITIES Water fountain, drink vending machines, restrooms, picnic tables and covered rest area.
**Although the park does offer rental helmets and pads, we encourage skaters/bikers to provide their own protective equipment.
