The Charles County Landfill opened for operation in July 1994 and averages approximately 11,000 transactions per month. In addition to bulk trash disposal, services available at the landfill include the Tag-a-Bag Program, Household Hazardous Waste collection, and free mulch.

Landfill Tours

Landfill tours detailing the facility’s working face, recycling center, composting operations, and leachate collection system are available upon request for youth, civic, and school groups. To schedule a tour, please call 301-932-3599.

Located 12305 Billingsley Road East Waldorf, Maryland driving directions Phone 301-932-9038 Hours* Monday through Saturday 7:00 A.M. —5:00 P.M. (no trash trucks or dump trucks weighed after 4:00 P.M.) The recycling center and Tag-a-Bag program remain available until 7:00 P.M.

* In addition to Sundays, the landfill is closed in observance of six major holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If a major holiday falls on a Sunday, there is no change in regular operating hours.
