Reuse Barn

The Re-Use Barn is a cooperative effort between the Southern Maryland Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America* and the Charles County Commissioners to keep usable items out of the landfill. Donations are accepted and proceeds are then reinvested into the community.

The Re-Use Barn is now located within the Bargain Barn facilities on Route 5 South in Hughesville (just prior to the Route 231 intersection). Hours of operation are Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.

Typical items at the barn are used furniture, dishes, lamps, linens, crafts, cabinets, bikes, toys, books, old/classical records, collectibles, metal and wood desks, and much more.

For more information, or to donate items, call Ellen Heilmeier at 301-645-9451 or the IWL at 301-932-9949. Please visit www.iwlasomd.org for additional information.

* The IWL of America is a non-profit conservation organization and is recognized as a Section 501(C) (3) public activity under the Internal Revenue code.
