Historic Preservation Plan
The Historic Preservation Plan was developed to guide the future of the preservation program in Charles County by reviewing, updating, and expanding upon the broad goals and strategies identified in the Historic and Cultural Preservation chapter of the 1997 Charles County Comprehensive Plan.
Having a historic preservation plan will provide the framework for a successful program in Charles County, on par with other Maryland jurisdictions. This plan was developed by the Charles County Historic Preservation Advisory Council, a 10 member committee appointed by the Charles County Commissioners because of their diverse interests and expertise in preservation, architecture, land development, heritage tourism, historic home ownership and rural conservation.
